In recognition of its high quality and patient safety, the AKUH is accredited by the Joint Commission International JCI as an Academic Medical Centre and its Clinical Laboratories are accredited by the College of American Pathologists CAP for fast and accurate testing.As an equal opportunity employer, AKU believes in promoting a diverse and inclusive culture and is committed to adopt appropriate standards for safeguarding and promoting a respectful relationship with and between diverse workforce of its faculty, staff, trainees, volunteers, beneficiaries, wider communities, and other stakeholders with whom it works, including children and vulnerable adults and expects all employeestrainees and partners to share this commitment.ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible toPerform noninvasive cardiac diagnostic procedure according to specified protocolsPerform advance Cardiac procedures and learn to perform new techniques and modalities including pacemaker checkup, Holter monitoring, strain imaging and 4D imaging in echocardiography procedures.Patient focused care through effective communication, respect and dignity in an empathetic yet professional manner.Oversee service efficiency through personal reflective practice of examinations times, workflow and patient volumes.Initiate andor contribute to clinical reviewcase conference meetings as appropriate.Identify any discrepancies in patients reports and resolve it with the concerned faculty to avoid such discrepancies in the futureAssist in quality audits for cardiopulmonary department to attain required quality standards.Clinical Supervision of Trainees conducting educational and learning sessions for the trainees and onboard technologists on regular basis to enhance their technical skills which will result in better patient care delivery and accurate resultsLiaise with the biomedical department regarding equipment repair and maintenance as and when required,Liaise with physicians to ensure timely reporting of the proceduresEstablish annual goals, objectives, performance targets and strategies to meet them.Attend educational opportunitiesconferences relevant to the role and scope of practice.Participate in inhouse sonographer CPE education.Participate in relevant research activities. RequirementsYou should have the followingGraduate Masters Preferred.Two years training course in Cardiopulmonary Diagnostic Technology at AKU or equivalent.Registered from any international board like Cardiovascular Credentialing International CCI or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers ARDMS.Certification in Basic Life Support Certification in Basic Life Support.At least 68 years related work experience in Cardiac noninvasive lab as a Senior TechnologistGood working knowledge of diagnostic procedures and operations of equipment.Strong teamwork and leadership skills, with the ability to lead by example when working with colleagues.Strong interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills.Capability to perform effectively and maintain composure in highpressure situations.Should be ready for late sittings or oncalls in emergency by providing necessary compensation i.e. staggered hours.NoteComprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.
