The BMI seeks to build capacity in the domains of mental health and neuroscience. In collaboration with partners, the Institute is advancing research leadership capacity and support service delivery across East Africa and South Asia, and other regions served by the AKU. The Institute supports a hub for scholarship exchange and action on mental health issues, as well as educational, clinical, and communitybased programs. BMIs research focuses on the context of todays youth in Africa and South Asia, while our programmatic offerings address mental health related and brain health issues, including stigma and resiliency. A significant area of interest is the implementation of sciencebased programming in hospital and community settings that translate new discoveries into prevention and treatment programs.This is a grantfunded contractual position.ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible tooversee and monitor all operational field activities and implement planned strategiesliaise and coordinate study requirements with relevant departments of AKU and external stakeholdersmanage field related items, record keeping, and storage of project related itemsmaintain documentation of the field activities on a regular basiskeep record of all equipmentassist and coordinate with the data management unit team in tasks including data collection, editing, and cleaning, and entryresolve day to day operational issuesarrange meetings and keep a record of minutes of the meetingsprovide weekly field updates to the supervisor RequirementsYou should havemasters in epidemiology and biostatistics, health policy and management, public health, or relevant fieldat least 3 years related work experiencebasic knowledge of survey and other research projectsgood interpersonal and communication skillsskills in data collection and report writingexcellent team playerability to effectively work in a team settingability to handle difficult situations and work under pressurewillingness to work on field sitesComprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.
